About IntPPC

"Connecting People, Projects, and Knowledge for Energy System Interoperability"

Our Vision

The Interoperability Project and People Connector (IntPPC) aims to establish an AI-enabled ecosystem that facilitates collaboration among stakeholders, organizations, and initiatives in the energy sector. We enable standardized interoperability between electricity, heating, and cooling domains while fostering integration with other vital sectors such as Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and mobility.

Mission & The int:net Ecosystem

IntPPC is a key component of the int:net project , The Interoperability Network for the Energy Transition. Our mission is to establish an open, cross-domain community that brings together all stakeholders relevant to the European energy sector. We aim to break down knowledge silos and motivate sustained collaboration to jointly develop, test, and deploy interoperable energy services, paving the way for a carbon-neutral European future by 2050.

The int:net project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement N° 101070086.

Core Features (Minimum Viable Product)

IntPPC provides a suite of tools designed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange:

  • IntPPC AI: Utilise AI for connection (People Connector), collaboration (Circle Creation suggestions, AI Assistant chat), and knowledge synthesis (generating Artifacts like summaries/briefs, analyzing documents, mining discussions).
  • Knowledge Hub: Access a curated, Zenodo-integrated repository. Search, filter (type, tags, quality, date), view, and contribute documents, datasets, standards, code, and policies with associated DOIs.
  • Expert Circles: Engage in focused Knowledge, Policy, or Validation circles. Participate in discussions, view posts (including AI suggestions), manage members, and create new circles/topics.
  • IntMAS Assessment & Certification: Understand the IntMAS framework for evaluating interoperability. View a conceptual dashboard visualizing maturity levels, gaps, certification paths, and audit history.

Synergies & Frameworks

IntPPC leverages and integrates with key industry frameworks and initiatives developed within the int:net project :

  • IntMAS (Interoperability Management and Assessment System): We incorporate this structured methodology from int:net, allowing organizations to assess their interoperability maturity, track continuous improvement, and gain credibility through associated certification displayed on profiles.
  • EMINENT (Energy Monitoring and INteroperability TEsting Network): Envisioned as the validation framework working alongside IntMAS. Future integrations aim to link testing results and certifications from EMINENT and similar bodies, providing verified evidence for interoperability claims within IntPPC.
  • SGAM (Smart Grid Architecture Model): Utilized as a foundational framework for mapping Use Cases (per IEC 62559-2) and structuring information across its standard layers (Business, Function, Information, Communication, Component). IntPPC embraces SGAM, including the proposed 6th 'Framework Layer' addressing governance aspects (Political, Standardization, Validation, etc.), to provide an organizational ontology for its knowledge circles and stakeholder connections. This aligns with the work of IFG-5: Smart Grid related Use Cases and SGAM .
